These bikes are very popular with touring, leisure and commuter cyclist because they offer many features that allow them to be ridden on most terrain and in all conditions. The term hybrid was derived from the fact these bikes are basically a cross between a road bike and a mountain bike but they are also commonly known as trekking bikes.

Expect your hybrid/trekking bike to be fitted with a number of additional features that you wouldn’t find on a road or mountain bike. This will include the minimum of full mudguards and rear luggage carrier and chain guard.

Framesets are generally made from lightweight aluminium tubing and have either a rigid or suspension fork. Ladies models are often designed with a low step over frame making them ideal for easy mount and dismount.

These bikes will also offer a high level of all important comfort features including wide gel filled saddles, suspension seat posts, adjustable handlebar stems with riser handlebars, and non slip platform pedals.
